At this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Taylor Swift showed off her bleach-blonde bob. Along with this recent hair transformation, she changed her style from feminine and flirty to edgy and goth. Swift switched out her school girl skirts, crop tops, and high-heeled lace up Oxford shoes for edgier pieces. Usually celebrities temporarily change up their look for Coachella; however, Taylor Swift is still wearing her new bold style.
Recently, at the BMI Pop Awards, Swift wore a faded royal blue spaghetti strap dress that incorporated a hunter green, velvet pattern. She added a silver choker and a metallic clutch to complete the outfit. When the cameras at the event flashed, it made the the velvet look like a pale, lime green, creating a unique color contrast. In addition, at the Met Gala, Swift wore a sequin, snake skinned patterned dress, with black detailing and cutouts. For shoes, she wore black, gladiator inspired, knee-high sandals. Both of these outfits incorporated a lot of dark colors and sharp patterns, creating a more daring, chic look.
In one of the most recent issues of Vogue Magazine, Swift was featured on the cover. The photoshoot displayed images of her wearing “fashion forward” dresses that mirrored her new edgy style. For example, one dress was covered in silver sequins, similar to the metallic pieces Swift has been wearing. In addition, she wore black, platform shoes with each outfit. All of the looks from the photoshoot were geared towards neutrals, such as black, white, grey, and tan, which are now Swift’s go to colors.
Some of the accessories that Swift has worn with her new killer outfits include sneakers, platform shoes, cross body bags, clutches, chokers, metallic sunglasses, and cartilage earrings. She has also added dark nails and neutral eye makeup to enhance her new look. In addition, the classic red lip is still a staple for Swift, yet she has been wearing darker shades more often.
Overall, Swift’s fashion has incorporated lot’s of neutrals and metallics. With this style transformation, she proved that she’s no longer an innocent, country girl. Swift has moved onto a new phase in her life that is bigger and bolder.
