Street Style: The Crossbody Comeback

One of our beloved and function friendly purses is coming back better than ever this fall: the crossbody bag. This classic staple has been recently reinvented several times, including variations with multiple handles, different sizes, and unique textures and materials. These details will add fun, new elements to the bag in a whole new way next season!

InStyle Magazine deemed the design as one of the most popular items in their fall purse forecast. One of the main variations they discussed was the two-strap crossbody; a medium sized, rectangular bag with lengthy slack is designed for the shoulder and a short band that acts as a handle. Italian fashion designer and blogger Chiara Ferragni wore the Hermès Kelly Bag to Milan Fashion Week. The black purse’s simplicity contrasted with the multicolored, embellished strap. The pop of color definitely made this a statement bag. In addition, actress Bella Thorne was recently spotted wearing a similar grey, snakeskin bag. The neutral color paired nicely with her Canadian tuxedo and snakeskin ankle boots. Not only can this bag be dressed up or down, but the style is very convenient because the bag has extra room for your essentials. It is extremely versatile because it can double as a handbag and a larger sack, making this the ultimate purse. It’s two bags in one!

According to InStyle’s forecast, another trendy bag to look out for this fall is the structured mini-crossbody. This is such an adorable look for when you don’t want to lug around a huge bag. The Gucci Soho Disco Bag is the quintessential example of a tiny number that has just enough room for the must haves. While grabbing a coffee, supermodel Karlie Kloss sported a black example with a gold chain and detailing. Not only will this trend look super cute, but your purse will feel as light as a feather. No more sore shoulders!

One more variation that we will see this fall includes slouchier purses, such as the bucket bag. Actress, model and fashion designer Sienna Miller was seen wearing a juicy, red bucket bag paired with jeans and a fuzzy, pale pink turtleneck. The pop of color created a unique contrast with her neutral ensemble. In addition, fashion blogger Aimee Song was photographed while wearing a beige bucket bag with layered oatmeal knit sweaters and ripped jeans. The detail of the bow on the purse added definition to this very neutral look. Whether choosing a bold pop of color or siding with a comfy neutral, this item will be sure to add style to your look!

Something great about the trend of crossbody bags is that there are tons of unique embellishments to choose from!
