Since the rise of the slip dress, the silk camisole has been catching our attention over the past few months. It’s slightly flowy and lined with lace detailing, making it the perfect transition piece for autumn. The tank top that you once paired with high-waisted jean shorts and Stan Smith sneakers on the hottest days of the summer can easily be worn with your favorite pair of comfy jeans and a wool knit sweater on a chilly fall day. Some fashion bloggers who have mastered this style include Aimee Song (Song of Style), Lorna (LornaLuxe), and Sendi Skopljak (Skopljak).
Song tends to pair the statement top with more masculine pieces. This creates an alluring contrast between the delicately of the top and the rawness of the distressed leather and ripped jeans. She also enjoys bringing back the 90s by layering the tank over similar colored short sleeved or long sleeved shirts. This is a creative way to stay warm, while still wearing one of the summer’s biggest trends. To embellish her outfit even more, she usually adds subtle gold jewelry for a fantastic finish.
Lorna follows similar fashion guidelines with her ensembles; however, she experiments with more materials for layering her look. For example, she wore a white, lacy, silk camisole with a hunter green, army inspired jacket. She also tends to pair the top with soft, chunky knit sweaters and silver necklaces.
Skopljak combines both Song’s and Lorna’s styles together when she wears the trend. The blogger wore a dusty rose camisole with a white short sleeved shirt underneath and a creamy, knit cardigan thrown over. Skopljak added her personal style to the outfit by wearing a black choker.
In addition to some of our favorite fashion bloggers, model Kendall Jenner recently wore this trend on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She sported a silk, mustard yellow camisole with white, lace detailing along the edges of the neck line and a high-waisted, pencil skirt, embellished with pockets and gold metal pieces. For accessories, the model wore mid-calf, patent leather boots and a thick, maroon choker, accented with a pearl pin. She was definitely channeling her inner 90s style with this outfit.
Not only do we love transitioning the silk, lacy camisole for fall, but other types of lingerie, such as bralettes and slips, can work too. Just remember to keep warm by layering like Lorna and Skopljak!
